Terms of Service
Last updated July 8, 2026
BackTheDrop is a marketplace that lets creators pre-sell AI short-drama series and lets backers pledge toward getting them made. These terms cover how the platform works for everyone.
What BackTheDrop is
We are a storefront and escrow layer, not the producer of any series. Creators own their IP and are solely responsible for delivering what they promise.
Reward tiers are non-monetary perks only (early access, credits, behind-the-scenes). Nothing on the platform is an investment, security, or profit-sharing interest.
Accounts
One account is used for both backing and creating. Any account may build and submit a drop; every drop is reviewed by us before it becomes publicly visible, and we may decline or remove one at our discretion.
You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for the accuracy of the information on your account.
Payments and escrow
Pledges are all-or-nothing: your card is saved during the presale and only charged if the drop reaches its goal by the deadline. See the Pledge Policy for the full flow.
Greenlit funds are held in escrow and released to creators against delivery milestones, never all upfront.
Acceptable use
Don’t upload content you don’t have the rights to, and don’t misrepresent how a series was made. AI use must be disclosed accurately (see the AI Content Policy).
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms or put backers at risk.
This is a plain-language summary for the early-access product and isn’t legal advice. Questions? Email support@backthedrop.com.
