Open to every creator — start today

Get paid before your first frame renders.

If you make AI video, you can launch a drop here. Set a goal, presell it to an audience, and get funded in milestones as you deliver — no application queue, no gatekeeping on who gets to try. Every drop is reviewed before it goes public, and that's the only bar.

Not another crowdfunding site. Not another streaming app.

The two things creators have had to choose between, combined.

Crowdfunding sites

Get you funded, then the relationship ends. No built-in audience, no ongoing revenue.

Short-drama apps

Buy your show outright for a flat fee — you hand over the IP and any upside with it.

BackTheDrop

Presale funding to get you into production, then a premiere that pays you per view. You keep the IP the whole way through.

The terms, same for everyone

No negotiation, no tiers of access — this is the deal on every drop.

Fee
8% on presale, 25% on unlocks

That's it. The unlock share covers hosting, playback, and the paywall — the 75% is yours, for as long as people keep watching.

Payouts
Paid in three milestones

20% at greenlight, 40% at rough cut, 40% at premiere — money as you deliver, not one lump sum you have to stretch across the whole shoot.

Limits
Start at $15K, earn your way up

Everyone's first drop caps at $15K. Ship it on time and the cap moves up — track record is the only thing that raises it.

Ownership
You keep the IP, always

We never take a stake in your show. Backers get perks — early access, exclusives, credits — never a piece of what you made.

How it works

From pitch to a premiere that keeps paying you.

01 · Pitch

Upload a trailer, set a funding goal and reward tiers, and disclose your AI tools. We review it and get you live.

02 · Funded in milestones

Hit your goal and backers are charged. You're paid in three milestones as you deliver — 20% at greenlight, 40% at rough cut, 40% at premiere — not one lump sum you have to stretch across the whole shoot.

03 · Premiere

Your backers watch free. New viewers pay per episode or season, and you keep 75% of that — we keep 25% for hosting, playback, and the paywall.

What review looks for

Anyone can build a drop. These are what an editor checks before it goes public.

  • Somewhere to reach an audience — TikTok, YouTube, Discord, 抖音, it doesn't matter where. A drop with nobody to presell to won't fund.
  • Your content is AI-generated (in whole or part) and you're comfortable disclosing your tools.
  • You can receive payouts through Stripe Connect (your country needs to be on Stripe's supported list).
  • A delivery date you actually believe in — milestone payouts are tied to shipping, and a missed one has consequences.

Questions creators ask

What if my drop doesn't hit its goal?

Nobody is charged, you're not on the hook for anything, and you're free to try again.

Does it have to be short drama?

Short drama is where we're starting, but the platform is built for any AI-generated video that needs to charge for itself.

Do I lose my IP?

No. Backers get non-monetary perks — early access, exclusives, credits — never a stake in your show.

What happens after I submit?

An editor reads it by hand, usually within 2 business days. Nothing is public until it clears — and you can keep as many drafts as you like while you work.

The catalog is still small. Yours could be early in it.

Building a drop is free and takes an afternoon. You only need backers once it's live.
